Sharyn Ann Lenhart M.D. Sharyn Ann Lenhart received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and English Literature from Allegheny College and her M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her psychiatric training at Harvard Medical School. After completing her psychiatric residency and serving as chief resident at McLean Hospital. Dr. Lenhart joined the clinical faculty at Harvard Medical School and established an academic based private practice in the Boston area. Clinically she has over twenty-five years of experience in providing individual, couples, and group therapy; psychopharmacology, career development workshops, and expert witness testimony regarding sexual harassment and gender discrimination. She has provided psychiatric consultation and educational training to a wide range of groups and organizations including equal employee opportunity offices, student health and counseling services, employee heath programs, police departments, and the ER TV series. Academically, Dr. Lenhart is nationally and internationally recognized as an author and lecturer in the areas of women's mental health, work/ family conflicts, and psychiatric problems related to career development and employment status. She has served on numerous medical school and healthcare committees and was recently elected a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She is a Past President of the American Medical Women's Association and a Past Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Administration at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Lenhart recently completed a book on the clinical aspects of sexual harassment and gender discrimination. She is currently exploring the use of mediation in employment discrimination disputes, and collaborating with Dr. King in developing techniques for helping individuals who are making significant life/career transitions. Dr. Lenhart lives in Concord MA with her husband and two daughters. |
